This silk piece was a response to the fires that swept through Washington State the summer of 2015. If you’ve ever been in front of a real fire, you know how terrifying it is to experience the wall of heat and flame and movement! I used several techniques in creating this banner, including gutta resist, salt, water spritzing, and hard and soft edges.
